The message box and color buttons above are both objects
in browser language. In the words of my very sharp and witty teacher,
"an object can be anything" as long as it is a noun.
January 21, 1999: Here I am, back again, and I have learned a LOT more. Have been learning "methods" in this part of the course. A document is an object, the same as a button, box or window. A method "is a special sort of function that applies only to an object." The name of a method is usually a verb. It describes something it's object can do. In this document I have used the write( ) method, which lets you display text anywhere in a document, or even "create an HTML document 'on the fly' ", as the lesson page puts it.
That was fun wasn't it? I think I better check the time. It may be past my bedtime.
